Mezcal Buck Recipe

Instead of doing shots with the bottle of Mezcal, why not shake up this effervescent agave take on the classic buck – a much more tasty and refreshing way to enjoy the worm. For lighter ginger flavor, you may substitute ginger ale for the ginger beer.


  • Mezcal – 2 ounces
  • Fresh Lime Juice – 1 ounce
  • Superfine Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Ginger Beer – 3 to 4 ounces, chilled


  1. Shake all the ingredients but the ginger beer vigorously with ice.
  2. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
  3. Top with ginger beer.
  4. Serve.
