Lee Miller’s Frobisher Recipe

This 1940s-era Champagne cocktail of classic composition is named after the equally stylish photographer Lee Miller, infamous as muse and model for the surrealist artist Man Ray.


  • Gin – 2 ounces
  • Dash of Angostura Bitters
  • Chilled Champagne – 5 ounces
  • Lemon Twist


  1. Pour the gin and bitters into an ice-filled glass.
  2. Slowly add the champagne, stirring gently.
  3. Run the lemon peel around the rim, twist it over the drink, and drop it in.
  4. Serve.
