Pear Daiquiri


Sweet, ripe pears are not always available when you need them, so use canned pears for this drink.


2 cups ice
3 canned pear halves (8.5-ounce can), drained and semi frozen
3 ounces white rum
2 ounces pear liqueur or syrup from canned pears
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon superfine sugar


1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
2. Cover and pulse on and off until the mixture starts to swirl evenly.
3. Blend on high for 20 seconds, or until the drink is completely smooth.


ALMOND PEAR DAIQUIRI Reduce the rum to 1 ½ ounces. Add 1 ½ ounces almond liqueur (such as amaretto) before blending.

BLACKBERRY PEAR DAIQUIRI Reduce the rum to 1 ounce. Add 2 ounces blackberry brandy before blending.

CHERRY PEAR DAIQUIRI Add 6 maraschino cherries and 1 tablespoon of their syrup before blending.

HONEY PEAR DAIQUIRI Reduce the pear liqueur to 1 ounce and omit the sugar. Add 1 ½ ounces honey liqueur (such as Bärenjäger) before blending.

MINTY PEAR DAIQUIRI Add 2 teaspoons white crème de menthe before blending.
