Perfect for a winter holiday party, New Year’s Eve, or a touch of Christmas in July. Just remember to look for chestnuts packed in water or dry vacuum packed. Candied chestnuts or chestnuts in syrup will make your teeth hurt.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup ice
¾ cup vanilla ice cream
½ cup roasted, peeled chestnuts (fresh or canned)
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce hazelnut liqueur
1 ounce vanilla liqueur
METHOD:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
2. Cover and pulse on and off until the mixture starts to swirl evenly.
3. Blend on high for 20 seconds, or until the drink is completely smooth.
Variations
Apricot Chestnut Chiller Thriller Add 2 pitted apricots (fresh or canned) and ½ ounce apricot brandy before blending.
Chocolate Chestnut Chiller Thriller Add 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup before blending.
Coconut Chestnut Chiller Thriller Omit the vodka. Add 1 ounce coconut rum (such as Malibu) before blending.
Herbal Chestnut Chiller Thriller Omit the vanilla liqueur. Add 1 ounce herbal liqueur (such as Strega or Chartreuse) before blending.
Irish Chestnut Mint Chiller Thriller Omit the vanilla liqueur. Add 1 ounce Irish cream liqueur (such as Baileys) and 1 tablespoon white crème de menthe before blending.
