Don’t expect this cocktail to be full of apples! The base is sharp and astringent, while the top is sweet and frothy- no discrimination here, of course!


2 measures triple sec

1 measure vodka

1 measure grapefruit juice

1 measure cranberry juice


5-6 cubes pineapple

2 tsp caster sugar

Crushed ice

Strawberry, to decorate


1. Shake the first four ingredients over ice until well frosted.

2. Strain into a chilled long glass.

3. In a blender, whizz the pineapple with sugar and 1-2 tsp of crushed ice to a frosty slush.

4. Dress with a slice of strawberry.
