Slivovitz is a colorless plum brandy, usually made from Mirabelle and Switzen plums. It is usually drunk straight, but can add a fruity note to cocktails. If it is not available, you could substitute apricot, peach or cherry brandy- all fruits from the same family- but the cocktail will not look or taste quite the same.

INGREDIENT:

4-6 cracked ice cubes

Dash of sugar syrup

1 measure Slivovitz

1 measure apple brandy

1 measure gin

1 measure orange juice

METHOD:

1. Put the ice cubes into the cocktail shaker.

2. Dash the sugar syrup over ice and pour in the slivovitz, apple brandy, gin and orange juice. Shake vigorously until a frost forms.

3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
