A knockout version of a champagne cocktail, not to be drunk too quickly.


1 measure brandy

1 measure Madeira wine or muscatel

3 drops Curacao

2 drops Angostura bitters


Champagne, chilled

Orange peel, to decorate


1. Shake the first four ingredients together over ice and strain into a chilled flute.

2. Top up with champagne to taste and finish with a fine curl of orange peel.

  1. Never done it with Madeira, I use more curacao. 1/3, 2/3 brandy and drop of lemon juice.
    Great Colour.
