Royal Julep Recipe

As with all juleps, the mint needs crushing or mudding first to help release its flavor into the sugar and water. Simply chopping it won’t produce enough flavors.

INGREDIENT:

1 sugar lump

3 sprigs fresh mint

1 measure jack Daniels

Champagne, chilled

METHOD:

1. In a small glass, crush the sugar and mint together with a little of the whiskey.

2. When the sugar has dissolved, strain it into a chilled flute with the rest of the whiskey and then top up with champagne.
