Daisy

A Daisy is a long cocktail with a high proportion of alcohol and sweetened with fruit syrup. Perhaps it gets its name from the now old-fashioned slang when the word ‘Daisy ‘referred to something exceptional and special.

INGREDIENT:

3 measures gin

1 measure lemon juice

1 tbsp grenadine

1tsp sugar syrup

4-6 cracked ice cubes

Soda water

Slice or orange, to decorate

METHOD:

1. Pour the gin, lemon juice, and grenadine and sugar syrup over the cracked ice and shake vigorously until well frosted.

2. Strain into a chilled highball glass and top up with soda water.

3. Stir gently, and then decorate with an orange slice.
