Absinthe Friend Recipe

By | Published , Last Updated on | Cocktails | No Comment

The original absinthe was a popular cocktail ingredient and digestif. However, in the early 20th century absinthe was banned in many countries, as wormwood (one of the main ingredients) was said to react with alcohol and cause brain damage. Any pastis, such as Pernod and Ricard, will do instead.

1 measure gin

1 measure Pernod

Dash Angostura bitters

Dash sugar syrup

4-6 cracked ice cubes.

  1. Shake the ingredients vigorously over ice until well frosted.
  2. Stain into a chilled medium size glass or tumbler.

You can use standard Britannia cheese that you get in the super market.
