Ingredients:
Chana Dal (Split Bengal Gram Dal) – 1/4 cup
Toovar Dal (Yellow Gram) – 1/2 cup
Moong Dal (Split Green Gram) – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves – 7 to 8
Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 tsp
Black Pepper – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Roast all the dals separately till they turn light brown.
2. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Roast the pepper, curry leaves and asafoetida. Allow it to cool.
4. Grind all the ingredients with salt.
5. Store in an air tight container.
6. Serve with rice.

Hi, authentic paruppu podi does not use any other dals except Toor dal. Also we dont use curry leaves. I give the recipe here
Toor dal – 1 cup
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Red chilly (opt) – 3 . Increase qty if using less pepper
1 inch piece dry ginger (sukku)
1/4 tsp asafoetida
Roast all ingredients dry , cool , add salt and grind coarsely.
