Pineapple Rasam Recipe
Ingredients:
Arhar Dal (Red Gram) - 1 tblsp
Pineapple - 2 cups, chopped
Green Chilli - 2
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Rasam Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1 tsp, chopped
Curry Leaves - 1 tsp, chopped
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Grind the pineapple pieces and extract the juice.
2. Filter and keep aside.
3. Cook the red gram in a pressure cooker and make 2 cups of dal water by squeezing the dal.
4. Add turmeric powder, salt and asafoetida.
5. Allow it to boil for sometime.
6. Dilute the pineapple juice with 4 cups of water.
7. Add rasam powder to it.
8. Fry mustard seeds, small chilli and curry leaves in a tsp of ghee.
9. Add it to the rasam.
10. Garnish with coriander leaves.
11. Serve hot with rice.
Note: If pineapple is not available, you can use pineapple essence.
