Cabbage Kootu Recipe
Ingredients:
Cabbage 1 med., size
White Channa or Chick peas 1 1/2 handful
Coconut 3/4 cup grated as you wish
Jeera 2 tsp
Red Chillies 2 or 3
Salt, Turmeric powder
For seasoning:
Oil, Mustard, Urad dhal and curry leaves
Coriander leaves optional
Method:
1. Wash and soak chick peas with plenty of water in previous night. Next day, boil it with little salt. Keep aside.
2. Chop the cabbage finely and add some water, salt, turmeric powder, cook it. Keep aside.
3. Grind coconut, jeera, red chillies.
4. In a pan, do the seasoning and add the vegetable, channa, coconut paste and if necessary, add salt. Make sure the veg., and channa are soft so that the taste will be good. Let it boil until it is thick. Add little rice flour if you need the kootu to be thick.
