Ingredients:
Hilsa - 500 gms
Mustard Seeds - 1 tblsp
Onion - 1/2, chopped
Garlic - 1/2 pod
Curd - 1/4 cup
Cumin Seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp
Mustard Oil - 2 tblsp
Water - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 3, split
Five Spice Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Rub the fish with 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt.
2. Grind onion, mustard seeds, garlic and cumin together.
3. Mix the ground mixture with curd and water.
4. Strain and keep aside.
5. Heat 1 tblsp oil.
6. Add five spice powder and pour the spice water.
7. Add salt and boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
8. Add fish, green chillies and simmer till done.
9. Sprinkle the rest of the oil before removing.
10. Serve hot.
