Methi Dhokla Recipe
Ingredients:
Chana Dal - 1 cup
Urad Dal - 2 tblsp
Sour Curd
Green Chillies - 2
Ginger - 1 one inch piece
Sugar - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Fresh Methi Leaves - 1/2 cup, chopped
Salt to taste
Eno
For the Seasoning:
Oil - 1/4 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Water - 1 cup
Curry Leaves - few
Green Chillies - 1/4 cup, cut lengthwise
For Garnishing:
Coconut Powder - 1 tblsp
Method:
1. Soak the dals, remove water and grind them together with the green chillies and ginger using the sour curd.
2. Mix in oil, lemon juice, salt, sugar, methi leaves and turmeric.
3. Add eno and steam in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes.
4. Heat oil in a vessel, and add the curry leaves, green chilli pieces and mustard seeds.
5. Fry for a minute and then add the sugar and water.
6. Boil for 5 -10 minutes.
7. Pour over the dhoklas.
8. Garnish with coconut powder.
