Masala Bheja (Spiced Lamb Brain) Recipe
Ingredients:
Lamb Brain - 4, whole
Salt - 1 3/4 tsp
Oil - 6 tblsp
Onions - 8, finely chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 3 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tblsp, finely chopped (for garnish)
Method:
1. Remove the veins and rinse the brain well.
2. Boil it in 1 1/2 cups of water with 1/4 tsp salt for 2 minutes.
3. Drain and separate the segments of each brain.
4. Cut the segments into 6 pieces each.
5. Heat oil in a pan.
6. Fry the onions till medium brown.
7. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for about 10 minutes, sprinkling water as needed.
8. Add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and 1 1/2 tsp salt.
9. Fry for about 5 minutes.
10. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and add the brain pieces.
11. Cook till the water evaporates and simmer of low heat for 5 minutes.
12. Garnish with coriander leaves.
13. Serve with plain rice or chapati.
