Ingredients:
Seer Fish – 500 gms, cut into 2 inch fillets
Oil – 6 to 8 tblsp
Onion – 1, large and sliced
Garlic Paste – 1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 3 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Jeera Methi Powder – 2 tsp
Salt – 2 tsp
Green Chillies – 6, slit
Curry Leaves – 10
Tamarind Extract – 5 tblsp
Fresh Coconut – 1 tblsp, ground

Grind to a Paste:
Onion – 1, large, roughly chopped
Tomatoes – 4, large, roughly chopped

Method:
1. Wash the fish and allow it to dry.
2. Heat oil in a deep pan on moderate heat.
3. Fry the onion till golden brown.
4. Add the garlic and fry for about 5 minutes, sprinkling water as required.
5. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, jeera methi powder and salt.
6. Fry for about 10 minutes.
7. Add the pureed onion and tomatoes.
8. Boil for 10 minutes.
9. Add the green chillies and curry leaves.
10. After a minute or two, add the tamarind extract.
11. Let it simmer.
12. Then add the coconut and continue to boil for 2 minutes.
13. Add the fish fillets.
14. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes.
15. Serve hot with plain rice.
