Date and Tamarind Chutney Recipe
Ingredients:
Tamarind - 1 lemon sized ball
Date - 200 gms
Oil - 2 tsp
Jaggery - 2 tblsp
Red Chilli - 2
Dry Ginger Powder - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Black Cumin Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Soak tamarind in water and extract.
2. Soak dates in hot water.
3. After some time grind it smoothly.
4. Pour oil in a pan over moderate heat and add mustard seeds.
5. Add chilli, fennel seeds and black cumin seeds.
6. Pour tamarind juice in the pan along with date paste.
7. Mix the dry ginger powder, salt and jaggery.
8. When the chutney becomes thick, remove and store it in a jar.
9. Use as required.
