Stuffed Tiger Prawns Recipe
Ingredients:
Tiger Prawns - 8 to 10 (about a kilo)
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblsp
Dried Red Chillies - 6
Cloves - 8
Black Peppercorns - 10
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Garlic - 8 cloves, chopped
Onions - 2, medium, chopped
Sugar - 1 tsp
Vinegar - 3 tblsp
Oil - 2 tblsp plus some more for shallow frying
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Make a vertical slit along the back of each prawn.
2. Marinate the prawns in a mixture of salt, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste for 15 minutes.
3. Grind the red chillies, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, cumin seeds, garlic and onions with sugar, vinegar and salt to a fine paste.
4. Add a little water if required.
5. Heat 2 tblsp of oil in a pan and saute the ground spice paste for 2 minutes.
6. Remove from heat.
7. Stuff each prawn with 1 1/2 tsp of the ground paste.
8. Tie the prawn up with thread to seal in the paste.
9. Heat the oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the prawns till golden brown.
10. Remove the thread and serve hot.
