Butterscotch Sauce Recipe

By   |  Chutneys and Sauces  |   Rating: Unrated

Ingredients:
Butter - 50 gms
Demerara Sugar - 50 gms
Golden Syrup - 50 gms
Milk - 150 ml

Method:
1. Put the butter, sugar and golden syrup into a heavy-based saucepan.
2. Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved.
3. Increase the heat and cook rapidly until the syrup reaches a temperature of 115C/240F.
4. Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool slightly, then slowly beat in the milk.

Note:
Golden Syrup is widely available in major supermarkets. If you not able to find one, you can substitute it with Honey. But the taste would be better if Golden Syrup is used.
