Garlic and Coconut Powder Recipe
Ingredients:
Whole Red Chillies - 4
Black Peppercorns - 1 tblsp
Coconut - 1/2, grated
Salt to taste
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 8
Garlic - 1/2 cup, ground
Method:
1. Dry roast the whole red chillies, black peppercorns and coconut for 5 minutes.
2. Add the salt and turmeric powder and roast for another 2 minutes.
3. Heat the oil in a pan.
4. Add the mustard seeds.
5. When they crackle, add the curry leaves and garlic.
6. Fry for 6 to 8 seconds.
7. Add the dry roasted ingredients and fry further for 4 minutes.
8. Remove the pan from the heat and cool.
9. Grind all the ingredients into a powder.
10. Serve with rice.
