Kande Ki Sabzi (Spicy Onions) Recipe
Ingredients:
Onions - 1/2 kg, cut into big pieces
Oil - 100 ml
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic Paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Ginger Paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Water - 1 cup
Yogurt - 1/4 cup
Method:
1. Heat the oil in a kadai.
2. Saute the cumin seeds for a few seconds.
3. Add the ginger and garlic pastes and fry till well browned.
4. Mix the dry spices in 1/2 cup of water and yogurt.
5. Add this to the kadai and fry well.
6. When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, add the onions and stir well.
7. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook on a low flame till the onions are tender but do not lose shape.
8. Serve with roti.
