Sago Sweet Pongal Recipe
Ingredients:
Sago - 1 cup, fried lightly in ghee
Water - 3 cups
Milk - 2 cups
Condensed Milk - 1 tin
Fresh Cream - 1/4 cup
Green Gram Dal - 1/4 cup, roasted and cooked
Ghee - 1 tblsp
Cashew Nuts - few, fried
Kismis - few, fried
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
Method:
1. Heat water. When it starts to boil add washed sago.
2. Cook until sago turns transparent and soft.
3. Remove from fire.
4. After a minute drain the excess water.
5. Mix cooked sago with milk, cooked green gram dal and condensed milk.
6. Cook for a few more minutes until moisture evaporates and pongal consistency is obtained.
7. Remove from fire.
8. Add cream, ghee, fried cashew nuts, kismis and cardamom powder.
9. Mix well.
