Vazhakkai Milaguttal Recipe
Ingredients:
Bananas - 2
Moong Dal - 1/2 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 sprigs
Salt to taste
Grind to a paste:
Grated Coconut - 4 tblsp
Green Chillies - 2
Cumin Seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Pepper Corns - 1/2 to 1 tsp
For Seasoning:
Til Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Method:
1. Peel and cut bananas into small cubes, add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt, curry leaves and enough water, cook and set aside.
2. Cook dal with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
3. When done add cooked banana, ground paste.
4. Add some more water, if too thick.
5. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
6. Season in oil the ingredients given, pour into kootu, mix well and remove from fire.
7. Serve hot with rice.
