- Avu Pachadi (Karnataka Style)
Avu Pachadi (Karnataka Style) Recipe
Ingredients:
Cucumber - 1 or 2, small
Thick Tamarind extract - 2 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Grind Together:
Fresh Coconut - 2 tblsp, grated
Roasted Gram - 1 tblsp
Green Chillies - 2 or 3
Red Chillies - 2
Asafoetida - a pinch
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Salt as required
Jaggery - little (optional)
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Scrape outer skin and slice the cucumber into thin 1 1/2 inch long pieces.
2. Grind the ingredients mentioned to smooth paste with minimum water possible.
3. Mix tamarind extract after grinding.
4. Just before serving mix sliced cucumber.
5. Heat oil, add mustard seeds to crackle and add it to the pachadi.
