Drumstick Leaves Dal Recipe
Ingredients:
Moong Dal - 1 cup
Chopped Tomatoes - 1/2 cup
Carrot - 2, diced finely
Drumstick Leaves - 1 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - few
Cinnamon - few
Cardamom - few
Coriander Leaves - for garnishing
Curry Leaves - for garnishing
Grind to paste:
Onions - 2, large
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Green Chillies - 4
Method:
1. Soak moong for 2 hours.
2. Pressure cook the dal with diced carrots and drumstick leaves directly till one whistle.
3. Heat oil, add masala spices, ground paste and fry till golden brown.
4. Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and then tomatoes.
5. Cook till it turns pulpy.
6. Add cooked dal and boil till it thickens.
7. Squeeze lemon at the end and serve hot.
