Traditional Shish Kebabs Recipe
Ingredients:
Lamb - 1 kg to 1 1/4 kg, trimmed of excess fat and cut into 1 inch cubes
Marinade - 1 cup
Bell peppers - 3, cut into 1 inch pieces of various colours
Red onion - 1, cut into 1 inch pieces
Lemon and lime wedges
Method:
1. Trim off excess fat and cut the lamb into 1 inch pieces.
2. Coat the pieces well with generous amount of marinade and put them into a resealable container.
3. Toss the pieces and refrigerate. The longer you marinate the more flavour the meat will gain. But the minimum time it requires is 2-3 hours.
4. Pre-heat the grill.
5. Thread the lamb cubes, onions and peppers onto skewers, alternating the pieces and place them on a hot grill.
6. Cook them uncovered for about 7 to 8 minutes.
7. Turn and cook the other sides in the same way.
8. Once cooked, remove from heat.
9. Serve with slices of lemon and onion.
