Ingredients for Chicken with Green Bell Peppers:
Chicken - 800 gms
Onion - 2, medium sized and made into a paste
Green bell peppers - 2, cut into strips
Tomato puree - 4 tbsp
Green chilli - 1
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 2 tsp
Clarified butter / Oil - 2 tbsp
Fresh cream - 1 cup
Salt as per taste
For garnishing:
Coriander leaves - as required, finely chopped
Method:
1. Lightly fry the grated onions, ginger-garlic paste and turmeric powder in hot clarified butter/oil in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
2. Add the chicken and all the other ingredients except the fresh cream. Mix well and cook on medium level for about 20 minutes or till the chicken is almost done.
3. Now add the fresh cream. Mix well. Lid the pan and cook on low heat for about 5 minutes or till the chicken is fully tenderised.
4. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
5. Serve with rice or roti.
Note:
The gravy can be increased by adding more tomato puree and onion paste.
