Sarson da Saag Recipe
Ingredients:
Sarso/Mustard greends - 1 kg, finely chopped
Spinach - 200 gms, finely chopped
Ginger - 2 tbsp, chopped
Garlic - 2 tbsp, chopped
Green chillies - 2, slit
Red chilli powder to taste
Onion - 1 cup, finely chopped
Plain flour - 2 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Ghee as required
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Cook the greens in salted water, till soft. Drain and mash well. Set aside.
2. To 4 tbsp hot ghee add onions, ginger, garlic, green chillies and red chilli powder.
3. Cook for 2 minutes or till brown.
4. Now add mashed greens and salt.
5. Mix the flour in a little water and add to the saag.
6. Cook for one hour on low heat.
7. Add butter and serve with roti.
