Ingredients:
Potatoes - 3 cups, cooked and mashed
Onion - 2, finely chopped
Gram flour - 2 cups
Corn flour - 2 tbsp
Green chillies - 2, chopped
Ginger - 2 tsp, grated
Garlic - 1 tsp, finely chopped
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - 4 tbsp, chopped
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Make a coarse paste with chillies, garlic and ginger
2. To the cooked potatoes add onions, ginger, garlic and chilli paste, coriander, lemon juice and salt.
3. To hot oil add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Stir for 30 seconds and add to potato mixture. Mix well.
4. With the besan, corn flour, salt, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, baking powder and turmeric powder add 1 tbsp hot oil to make a thick batter.
5. Let it rest for 20 minutes.
6. Divide the potato mixture into 12-15 balls.
7. With a spoon dip each ball in the batter and fry in hot oil.
8. Serve hot.
