Muri Ghonto Recipe
Ingredients:
The head of any large fish - 1 (preferably rohu)
Chana dal - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Bay leaves - 2
Finely chopped tomatoes - 2
Mustard oil - as required
Garam masala - a pinch
Onions - 2
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Red chillies - 5
Garlic - 6 cloves
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Sugar as per taste
Salt - 1 tsp
Method:
1. Properly boil the chana dal
2. Fry the fish head in hot oil with turmeric powder and salt till brown.
3. Make a paste of garlic, onions, red chillies and cumin seeds.
4. Heat ghee in a pan, put in bay leaves and then gradually the fish head, salt, the paste, finely chopped tomatoes and a little sugar. Add water.
5. When nearly done, add the dal and cook. When ready, add as seasoning of garam masala.
6. Serve with plain rice.
