Machcha Patropoda Recipe
Ingredients:
For the masala
Ginger - 1 tsp
Garlic - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Dry red chillies - 2 to 3
For the main preparation
Fish - 1 (Kingfish or Pomfret)
Biryani masala - 2 tsp
Green chillies - 1 tsp, chopped
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 7, chopped
Coriander leaves - as required
Onion - 1, sliced
Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Method:
1. Grind the masala ingredients together.
2. Clean the fish and cut into small pieces.
3. Marinate the fish with salt, turmeric, prepared masala, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, onions and mustard oil.
4. Wrap the marinated fish in a banana leaf and tie it up with a thread.
5. Cook the sealed fishes on coal for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Serve hot.
