Goan Fish Head Curry Recipe
Ingredients:
Fish Head - 500 gms
Oil - 5 tbsp
Tomatoes - 2, large sized and chopped
Curry leaves - 10 to 12
Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
Chilli powder - 3 tsp
Coconut milk - 1 cup
For preparing the paste
Coconut - 1 cup
Onions - 3, medium sized
Coriander seeds - 4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
Peppercorns - 4 tsp
Green chillies - 6
Garlic - 10 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Vinegar - 2 cups
Water as required
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Cut the washed and cleaned fish head into required sizes.
2. Mix the finely ground paste ingredients with vinegar to make a smooth paste
3. Cook the paste masala in hot oil for 15 minutes on low flame.
4. Add the remaining ingredients except the coconut milk and cook further for 5 minutes.
5. Add the fish head and 100 ml of water. Cook till the fish heads/pieces are done.
6. Now mix in the coconut milk and boil for 5 minutes.
7. Serve hot with rice.
