Tandoori Prawns Recipe
Ingredients:
Prawns - 12, king size
Ajwain seeds - 1 tsp
Chick pea flour - 3 tbsp
Chaat masala - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Garlic paste - 3 tbsp
Ginger paste - 3 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
White butter for basting
Yellow chilli powder - 1 tsp
Yogurt - 2 cups
Method:
1. Keep aside 2 tbsp of the lemon juice.
2. In a bowl, mix the rest of the lemon juice with the ginger and garlic pastes.
3. Add salt, chick pea flour, ajwain seeds, yogurt, yellow chilli powder, garam masala and turmeric and mix well to prepare the marinade.
4. Dip in the prawns and let them marinate for 2 hours.
5. Arrange on skewers and cook in a tandoor till half done, about 15 minutes.
6. Remove and set aside for 10 minutes. Cook again in the tandoor for 2 minutes.
7. Baste with butter and replace in the tandoor for approximately 3 more minutes.
8. Remove from skewers and arrange on a platter. Sprinkle with chaat masala and the reserved lemon juice.
9. Serve with a green salad.
