Tomato Biryani Recipe

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice - 250 gms
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes - 5, finely chopped
Green Chillies - 1, chopped
Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves - handful
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut - 3 tsp, grated
Oil - 3 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Place a pressure cooker (or a pressure pan) over medium flame.
2. Add ghee and oil.
3. Add the cumin seeds and fry for 30 to 45 seconds.
4. Add tomatoes, green chillies, coconut, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
5. Cook for a minute or two.
6. As soon the water has almost evaporated, add the coriander leaves and pour 2 cups of water.
7. Add the rice and cover with the lid.
8. Cook till 1 whistle and reduce flame to low.
9. Simmer on low flame for 5 minutes.
10. Remove the pressure cooker and keep aside to cool.
11. Once cool enough, open the lid and stir to mix well.
12. Serve hot.

I want to know about " bay leaves" what is the exact meanning of this in hindi,"cardamom"What is this? If possible please write the hindi name in brackets ()of these type of things which is not popular in normal use.

bay leaves normally known as 'biryani leaves' and cardamon is 'ellachi'
