Methi Aloo Chatpata Recipe
Ingredients:
100 gms methi seeds
200 gms potatoes, diced
4 large onions, diced
1 cup milk
50 gms raisins
1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
a few almonds
oil for cooking
Grind together:
1 inch piece of ginger
6-8 cloves of garlic
2 green chillies
2 black cardamoms
2 green cardamoms
1 tsp peppercorns
a big stick of cinnamon
4 cloves
Method:
1. Soak the methi seeds in 1 cup milk overnight. Boil them in the morning till the milk dries up.
2. Soak the raisins for half an hour. Drain, keep aside.
3. Fry the potatoes and keep aside.
4. Heat oil in a karahi, fry the ground masalas, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Add salt.
5. Add the chopped onions adn fry till golden brown. Add the boiled methi seeds and fried potatoes. Cook on slow till the methi seeds are soft.
6. Garnish with almonds and serve hot with puris.
