Spinach Cutlets Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup channa dal
a large bundle of spinach, chopped
4 green chillies
1 small piece ginger
1/2 tsp amchoor
1 onion
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
2 tsp dhania-jeera powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp chilly powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp flour
bread crumbs
oil for frying
Method:
1. Boil the dal in water. When half cooked, add the chopped spinach. While still warm, mash to a rough paste.
2. Chop the chillies, ginger and onion.
3. Heat 2 tbsp of oil, add the chopped ingredients and fry for a while. Add the mashed dal, the dry masalas and salt, and fry for a few more minutes until the water evaporates. Remove from fire, cool and when cool, shape into cutlets.
4. Mix the flour with some water to a thin paste. Dip the cutlet in this, roll in the bread crumbs and shallow fry both sides until brown.
Serve on a plate.
