Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups basmati rice
3/4 cups bengal gram (soaked for 2 hours)
1/2 tsp cumin
2 inch cinnamon
2 bay leaves
2 3/4 cups water
4 cloves
2 black cardamoms
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Method:
1. Heat the oil in a pressure pan.
2. Add the cumin, cloves, cardamoms, bay leaves and fry for three minutes.
3. Add the rice and dal and saute for a minute.
4. Add the salt and water and pressure cook until rice and dal are cooked.
5. Serve hot.
