Beetroot Cutlet Recipe
Ingredients:
Potatotoes - 1/2kg
Beetroot - 3 (medium sized)
Big Onions - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
Minced green chillies - 1tsp
Ani seed - 1/2 tsp (sombu)
Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 3/4 tsp
Salt - as required
Dhania powder - 1tsp
Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp
Fine bread crumbs - 1/2 cup (dry)
Oil for frying
Method:
1. Pressure cook potatoes. Peel and mash well.
2. Peel outerskin from beetroot and steam it in pressure cooking without chopping for about 7 minutes.
3. After cooking grate beetroots.
4. Heat oil in a deep pan. Add ani seed, ginger garlic paste, minced chillies and then onion.
5. Fry for a few minutes and then add dhania powder, garam masala powder and chilli powder.
6. Continue frying with grated beetroots till moisture evaporates.
7. Add cooked mashed potatoes and salt.
8. Fry for few more minutes, add mango powder and remove from fire.
9. Allow to cool down and mix half of the bread crumbs to this.
10. Make balls and shape into thin cutlets.
11. Use other half of the bread crumbs for coating.
12. Fry on a hot tawa using enough oil for frying till golden brown.
13. Serve hot.
