Onion Chutney Recipe
Ingredients :
Sesame Oil - 3 tbsp
Onions (chopped) - 3 medium sized
Red Chillies - 6
Black Gram Dal - 2 tbsp
Tamarind - 1 lime sized ball
Salt to taste
Method :
1. Fry chopped onions in 1 tablespoon of oil, till transparent. Set aside.
2. In the same pan fry red chillies and black gram dal, in 1 tablespoon of oil.
3. Grind the roased ingredients to a smooth paste, with tamarind and salt.
4. Heat the remaining oil and fry the paste for 2-3 minutes.
Note : This chutney can be preserved for 3 days in the refrigerator, and is an excellent accompaniment to dosais, pongal or chapattis.
