Oil Free Sago Kichidi Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup sago dry
1 cup roasted peeled peanuts crushed or powdered
3-4 green chillies chopped
3 tbsp coriander chopped
4-5 curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp sugar (optional)
Salt as per taste
1 1/2 tsp lime juice
Method
Wash sago gently.
Remove excess water.
Keep aside for 1 hour.
Loosen the sago and break lumps with figures.
Sprinkle a handful of water. Keep aside for 1 hour. Loosen as before.
Take in a mixing bowl. Add all ingredients except coriander leaves.
Mix well with hands or wooden spatula.
Just before serving, put in a nonstick pan, and cook till grain is softened and translucent
Alternatively: microwave for 30 seconds, stir gently, microwave again for 30 seconds
Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve immediately, with hot tea or coffee.
