Chingri Malai Curry Recipe
Ingredients:
prawns - 1/2 kg
coconut - 1
mustard oil - 4 tbsp
ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
coriander powder - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
beaten curds - 3 tbsp
cloves - 2
cinnamon - 2
salt to taste
Method
Clean the prawns.
Grate the coconut and extract 1/2 cup first milk and 1 cup second milk from coconut.
Heat 3 tbsp of oil, fry ginger garlic paste and all the powders.
Add prawns and fry for few minutes. Add curds. Cook for few minutes.
Add second coconut milk and salt.
Simmer till prawns are cooked.
Stir in the thick coconut milk and just as it begins to boil, remove from fire.
Heat remaining oil in a small fry pan.
Add cloves and cinnamon.
Fry till fragrant and add to the curry.
