Easter Cut-Outs Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup walnuts crushed
1/2 cup cashews crushed
1-1/2 cups biscuits (marie or glucose), crushed
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tbsp. Cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. Vanilla essence
For Decoration:
Jelly Beans
Icecream sticks
oval cutter
bunny shape cutter
Coloured frosting
Method:
Put sugar, cocoa, butter in a nonstick pan.
Cook while stirring, till well dissolved.
Take off heat, mix in all other ingredients.
Allow to cool till it can be handled.
Empty into greased large plate, pat even very lightly
Using the shaped cutter, cut out the shapes
Place cutouts on sheets of waxed paper
Insert a icecream stick 2 inches into the bottom of each cutout
Decorate the popups with jelly beans, chocolate chips, coloured frosting as desired
Cool well till firmed
Store in air-tight container, can be placed in Easter Basket
