Ribbon Pakoda Recipe
Ingredients
Gram flour - 2 cups
Rice flour - 2 cups
Chilli powder - 3 tblsp
Asafetida powder - 2 tblsp
Butter - 100 gms
Table salt - to taste
Oil - for frying
Method
1. Mix the rice flour and gram flour with chilli powder, asafetida powder, salt and butter.
2. Take a little of this mixture, add water to it to get a thick paste like consistency.
3. Heat oil in a kadai.
4. Test how hot it is by dropping a pinch of dough into it - if it sinks, the oil hasn't become hot enough. If the dough springs to the top with bubbles all around it, then the oil is just ready.
5. Take some of the dough and pass it through the special ribbon pakoda strainer and deep fry till it turns golden brown.
6. Keep flipping the sides till the ribbon pakoda is done.
7. Store in an air tight container.
